Dy ditet e para te 2020 nuk shenuan asnje lindje ne qytetin e Elbasanit. eferuar statistikave ky qytet eshte nder me te prekurit nga shpopullimi. Gjate vitit 2019 ne elbasan jane regjistruar 1300 lindje me nje mesatare ditore 6 deri 7 lindje. Porse ne tre mujurin e fundit te 2018 numri i lindjeve ka qene me i madh me 864 femije, ndersa ne tre mujorin e fundit te 2019 ku numer ka persuar renie me 735 bebe te lindura. Sipas qytetareve arsyeja kryesore  e uljes se lindshmerise eshte ekonomia e dobet dhe braktisja e ketij qyteti nga te rinjte drejt emigrimit.
